Distinguished and Famous people from Dorset
🌟 Karen Rainbow
Karen Rainbow was named Dorset’s Citizen of the Year in 2025 after establishing Scottsdale’s Red Dirt Café food and friendship group. Volunteers provided a weekly free meal and a chance to meet other people without judgement. In accepting the award, she credited family, friends and the wider community for making the work possible. The project’s value lay in combining food with company: a shared table could offer a welcome and a conversation as well as dinner. Her recognition followed an earlier Dorset volunteering award.
